We are going on our very first vacation as a family. A REAL vacation, not just camping for a few days!

I wanted to go somewhere exotic, and you can find some sweet ass deals on things like Caribbean villa rentals, but the flights were so expensive, we had to shelve that. Eventually, just me and Hubs will get out and do something exotic, but for now, we decided to make this vacation about the kids.

In a stroke of pure genius, my cousin bought a house in Calgary. And then, Even more genius, she invited our family down next summer. the awesome thing about Calgary is it’s proximity to some awesome things.

An hour and forty minutes from my cousins house is the Royal Tyrell Museum

This museum has some of the LARGEST, complete dinosaur skeletons. The boys (and us) are going to LOVE it.

Next, right IN Calgary is the Callaway Park, a huge amusement park:

I’m a little scared of this part. I don’t like roller coasters!

An hour from Calgary in the opposite direction of the museum is the Banff and the Rocky Mountains. the boys are very into mountains, they have never seen them outside of TV and pictures, so this will also be exciting. I am looking forward to getting lots of Mountain pictures, and hubs is hoping to see a lot of wild life!

I think that this vacation is going to be awesome, and we will save at least $500 on hotel bills by staying with my cousin!
