A few months? weeks? ..hmm..

A WHILE ago I found a website through Twitter called FML. (F*** my Life). I was randomly amused by it and made sure to check it each day. I mean, how can you not feel better about your day when you read the horrors that are happening to the people on FML?

Like the guy who thought it would be hilarious to throw invisible ink on his sister, on the morning of her wedding, only to find out that invisible ink isn’t very “invisible” on some fabrics.

Or the girl who was proposed to with a facebook bumper sticker that said “B****, lets get married

So. FML is pretty fun to read, but THEN I found MLIA (My Life Is Average). MLIA is so awesome it hurts!

MLIA is full of posts about ninjas, harry potter, building forts and other things that are made of win. There is no bitching that you got your purse stolen and your best eye cream was in there. No one is complaining that  they suck, that bad shit is happening, every single MLIA post is about something that is awesome.

As fun as it was to laugh at the poor people complaining on FML, I get better enjoyment out of the posts where something GOOD  is happening!

I know, I KNOW. It’s only August, but on Friday my Mother In Law called me and told us they had booked their place in Arizona for the winter and will be leaving right after Christmas. They won’t be home until April, which SUCKS. All spring summer and fall, hubs and I get used, really, REALLY used to having at least two nights kid free a month and then when they leave, well, it’s hard not having those nights!

My only hope is that unless they can find some cheap insurance to act as intermittent insurance – their other insurance, the year round stuff is only good for 45 days outside the country, so they either need to get an intermittent insurance for the rest of the vacation in the States, or they will try and find some cheap flights home and do some laundry AND babysit the boys over night.

I am really really hoping that the flights will be cheaper than getting more insurance to cover the gap. Once they have been home for 24 hours, then all will be OK, insurance wise, and DUDE, I will have gotten a kid free night.

Cross your fingers for me please!

Today was spent mostly on my feet, which sucks monkey balls because my leg is super duper sore from my stitches. We had shopping to do, which went well, we found nearly everything we were looking for. When we got home, after the groceries were put away, I took a short break to harvest my super berries on Farm Ville – A facebook game.

I say short break because I had a house that needed cleaning for a barbecue and over night guest that was coming the next day. when my aunt originally called asking if she could spend the night on her way through I immediately agreed, excited for the chance to catch up, then I remembered that I was getting stitches and OMG how was I supposed to clean the house?

Luckily hubs and the boys stepped in to help and it got done. Or should I say “Doneish”. In the morning I have floors to sweep, a rig to vacuum and hamburgers for the BBQ to make.

Sigh.

I am curious to see what my aunt  looks like. see, while I dream of weight loss supplements that magically melt off my fat, my aunt had a gall stone attack and nearly died from being so over weight. She woke up and realized her life was in danger and has lost 120 pounds, the “other” way. (Look away! I’m gonna say a dirty word in the next sentence!) She actually exercised it all off!

She has had a tummy tuck, but with the amount of weight she has lost she told me over the phone she still needs her arms, legs and breasts worked on to get rid of the extra skin.

We have house insurance, and we have car insurance, and we even have life insurance for Micah through his work, but i was talking with my Stepmother the other day about wills and stuff.

Who would we leave the kids with?

My siblings are not, NOT who I want the kids with, and I feel the same way about my husbands sisters. My in laws are ok for over night visits and a trip out for ice cream, but the fact my MIL once told me that I am telling the boys “I love you” too often means she is out of the running too. Plus my in laws are old, she is 65 and hi is 70.

I guess the best option I have right now is my dad and his wife, but I am hesitant to put it into writing.

It would cause a HUGE fight between dad and my in laws.

It’s not that I am expecting to die any time soon, but accidents DO happen. And with my dad’s recent heart attacks, mortality is preying on my mind. I see things online like and advertisement for key man life insurance or I drive past the funeral home on Main Street and I remember again, that we really need to draw up wills and set in stone, in a legal and binding way what happens if something happens.

So I am “babysitting” my niece. I put babysitting in brackets because I wasn’t asked to watch her by her parents, I ASKED if I could have her for a few days, so whats the definition of that? Playing?

Anyway.

Her mom just went through her medical coding training courses (or something along those lines, she is like a receptionist who can draw blood and weigh you and what not) and graduated with honors and is starting her new job at the medical clinic on the 12th – tomorrow..well. Maybe today, or yesterday, depending on when you read this. We are all pretty proud of her mom, and since K-ster is adorable, and I wanted an excuse to play with her, I decided her momma needed some time off before starting her new job. And it’s not even a GOOD excuse, because I left K-ster’s baby sister home with momma LOL.

AHNYWAY.

We’ve been having a pretty good time, up until about an hour and a half ago when K-ster started crying. She misses her mommy and daddy and her room ad her bed and her water glass (lol) and her sister and wants to go home. An hour of talking and cuddling has gotten her – I hope- ok enough to sleep, but I think I will take her home tomorrow afternoon/evening instead of keeping her longer.

It makes me sad, but she IS only three, and I should have expected this!
