Speaking of today’s nasty trip to the city, it really got me thinking about life insurance.

See, Logan had been dropped off at a birthday party and was being driven home by the parents of the Birthday Boy, what if we crashed our car? We don’t have a will, we don’t have life insurance, we don’t have anything set up for a situation like this!

I was panicking on twitter this evening waiting for Logan to be brought back home, the roads were getting worse and worse by the minute and it was getting dark. I very nearly cried when their car pulled up in the driveway.

Obviously he made it home safe and sound, but What If?

You heard me, I’m DONE! Done with cold, done with snow, DONE. WITH. WINTER!!

Look at what we had to drive through today!

Disgusting. Go ahead and sign me up for one of those Branson vacation packages, because I am tired of driving on ice, or freezing when I go out, and most of All?

Shoveling S**w.

That’s right, in MY house S**w is a four letter word that even my children know not to say!

Brrrrrrrrrr!

This weekend I am going to try something new.

I’m gonna try my hand at waxing . . . my budding mustache.

*eyeroll*

Yeah, you read that right. Mustache. And it’s damn annoying too. I’ve tired plucking them, but its like I’m taking the best testosterone boosters in the world while I sleep because it is back before I have a chance to notice I’ve plucked in the first place.

I am super worried that It will cause a rash or bruising or .. well anything! I’m just plain worried!

But, hey, a rash goes away, and so does bruising, and I am not worried about the pain, so I might as well toss my hat into the facial waxing ring!

Every time i look at my cat and worry about how overweight she is, I remember the fat Cat savings account I had with the Credit Union when I was a kid. Every year they would send me a birthday card with a dollar in it and every year my mom made me go down to the bank – she was the manager – and deposit it into my account – and account that she was the co -signer of so I wasn’t able to take out money all by myself.

I haven;t been inside a credit union in close to 15 years now, and i wonder if they still do the fat cat savings program, or if it was stopped becuase so much emphasis is being put on being a healthy weight. There are tonnes of diet things out there – like quicktrim, exercises machines and other lose weight aids, but think about it. Santa used to smoke a pipe. When was the last time you saw a depiction of Santa in print or on television with him holding a pipe?

Most, if not all cartoons shown in North America do not show smoking of any kind, in fact, I’m pretty sure that smoking in a movie bumps its rating up to pg-13 right a way, so I’m assuming that the credit union no longer offers the fat cat program. I wonder what they put in its place?

I have been baby sitting the girls now for three days (Thursday, Friday and today, Monday), and it’s going really well. I’m not getting as much time as I am used to online, but that’s not gonna kill me, just put me a bit behind schedule!

Tonight I am updating a few blogs (go here and give me ANY advice on hair loss treatments for dogs. It’s pretty bad, people) Anyway, I’m updating a few blogs, then I want to hop into the tub, and then I have some pictures that I want to work on in photo shop, cropping, maybe brightening or sharpening a few, We’ll have to wait ’til  they are on the big screen, its hard to tell if a picture is good when it is on the camera.

One of  the photos I am VERY excited to work on tonight is this one:

This is straight out of the camera, and I am very pleased with it. my only problem is the background on the left hand side is bad. How I didn’t notice that is beyond me, but I will figure something out. Probably crop it.

Normally I get my photo shopping fix during the daytime, but with two very active girls around, I’m  just not finding the time. it will be nice when the three of us are in a set routine, when the baby learns what is and isn’t OK to play with, but until then, I have to be on my toes, and being on my toes has NEVER been on my schedule!

My Thighs are still so so sore! If anything they are worse today than yesterday, and I was NOT counting on that!

OMG.

I spent a bit of time this morning online looking for a way to fix my thighs, but all I can find is that I was supposed to have stretched before and after! Now I should be taking Advil and icing and heating alternatively.

I got sidetracked reading colonix reviews, and am now sitting here, typing away. My gut tells em that the best thing to be doing is to keep moving, that the more I walk the faster the stiffness will go away. What do you think? I haven’t been able to find anything definitive online, and Micah says that I should rest them becuase extra walking will just make it more sore.

I was looking for some Advil in the medicine cupboard last night, and guess what I found in there? I found something so shocking, so ..well.. funny, that I decided that I HAD to make time, and SOON, to clean out my medicines.

I found an old bottle of prenatal vitamins.

I guess to put this in perspective, my YOUNGEST son is five and a half, as in its been over five years since I have had a use for those vitamins, AND whats worse, we have only lived in this house for a little over FOUR years.

That means I actually took the time to PACK them and move them with us to the new house, then I UNPACKED them and carefully put them away with the rest of the pills and vitamins.

Wow.

And nope, its not becuase I subconsciously wanted another baby, I got my tubes tied when the baby was four hours old and not only do I not regret doing so, as each year passes I am more sure that it was the right thing to do!

I have a confession.

In the past MONTH I bet I’ve remembered to wash my face before bed ONCE. Yeah, you heard me. One time.

See, by the time me and hubs head to bed, I’m yawning, shivering (I get cold when I am tired) and just plain ready for my BED.

But. It’s time to break out my acne treatments, face washes and moisturizer because hot damn! My skin is nasty right now.

My cheekbones and nose are so dry they are peeling – like a sun burn! And my forehead chin and neck are greasy and icky – and of course, littered with zits.

I’m not the only eon having skin issues. This evening I caught Parker at just the right angle and lighting and saw that he is beginning to get wee bumps all across his forehead.

He has been using an acne cleaning pad for a while now – I was hoping to avoid the whole zit stage with him, but I think its time to switch it up for him, let him try something else, see if that works better. He is starting to hit the dreaded stage – the other night I hugged him and he reeked of BO, he was sent off to the shower and told that from now on he has to apply his deodorant every day – not just when he remembers like he has been LOL

Right now? I’m just happy he still thinks girls are dweebs!

So, with a legitimate reason, my brother and his girlfriend asked me to baby sit their two girls, I love kids, and the extra money will be nice, so I said yes.

BUT. see, my brother works the rigs, so he works for a few weeks then is off a week or so, and obviously I wont have the girls those days, I used THAT as an excuse to set up what the monthly charge for the girls was, and broke it down to what that is each week and then broke it down even further to what it is each day.

The reason is that my brothers girlfriend has a job,a nine to five job, Monday to Friday, but she has a history or not being able to keep jobs. And therein lies the problem. If we had set a monthly fee for the girls, how do I work it out if I get them say two days this week and four the next? And what happens if I watch them today and tomorrow but then she quits/gets fired form her job?

I love my nieces, they are quite adorable – they have issues, of course they do, but they are good kids, but I don’t really trust my brother to pay me.

I feel kinda guilty that I worked it out the way we did, day/week/month, but while I will enjoy looking after the girls, I will not do it for free. I’m not looking to make enough to go vacation in the gulf shores hotels, but not having to stress about which bill gets paid on which paycheck, well, it will be nice. My brother will be saving close to 350 a month in child care – that’s with the cost of gas to drive out here factored in.

I’m just not quite sure how to handle the first time that payday comes and I am told they can’t – for whatever reason- pay me that day.

Because I know that that will happen, providing I have the girls long enough for it TO happen.

We took the tree down, finally. We had planned on doing it on Saturday the second, but got distracted when we went downstairs to clean out the storage room to get it ready for the Christmas Boxes.

Our eldest had gotten a Birthday Present in October, and apparently, Friday night when they were supposed to be watching a movie downstairs, they instead ripped apart the Styrofoam inserts that were in the box. By he time we got that mess cleaned up we were too tired of cleaning to want to take down the tree, AND we had passed a new house rule : From that moment on, Styrofoam is a banned substance in our home. Until our children reach the age of 25, if they get soemthing that contains Styrofoam, it must immediately be surrendered to their parental units. I even told the boys “This means if you come home for Christmas with your girlfriend or wives at the age of 24, and we give you a box of Styrofoam, you have to give it to us, in front of the girl!

LOL

So Sunday the Third we decided we would take down the tree, but my husbands nephew called and invited us over for dinner. I was Leary going over because his wife had given birth LESS than a day before, but he insisted, so off we went.

Monday I took all the decorations and lights off the tree and put them in their boxes, and Hubs took the tree itself down that evening. Our living room looks so empty now, like one of those homes in magazines filled with modern furniture furniture!

It looks so weird after having the tree of for over a month, but I bet that before February hits, I will be used to the empty look again!
