So.  This evening we ran into the city for some McDonalds and a bit of shopping.  Micah was looking for a certain DVD and Logan had to buy a gift for a birthday party he is going to this Saturday.

W showed Logan two different gift ideas, some type of lego thingy and asked him if he would pick one.  He was absolutely unable to make up his mind. Unable that is, until he saw the POS systems. As soon as he realized that the store had self check out, he grabbed a random box and we were off at a RUN for the check out. Logan’s favorite part is when we let him swipe the card into the machine.

I think I need to get myself a few bar codes and a pos system for home, then, in the morning, I could convince Logan that pants are indeed a good thing by letting him scan them before putting them on!!

My cousin worked the Olympics in Vancouver and is on the long road home. She will be staying with me and my family for two days to break up the drive and so that we have a chance to catch up on all that’s been going on.

I spent most of the day cleaning house, you know, doing the vacuuming, the wiping of door knobs, cleaning the toilets and making sure I found the bedding, that kind of stuff.

Tomorrow I will clean the kitchen, which is just emptying the clean dishes from the dishwasher and loading it with the dirty, and I think I will run a mop over the floors while I am at it.

After that? My cousin will be here!
While K is here I doubt I will be online a lot, My constant searching for insurance quotes will just have to wait.

Speaking of insurance quotes, the final paper we needed for our taxes has arrived so we are going to make an appointment soon-ish. I cannot wait to see what our return is this year! At least, I sure hope it’s a return and not an owing!!

OK. Like I said in my previous post, I babysit my brother two girls, four and 19 months old. The baby is great, super easy going, rarely cries and the best part? she claps for everything I do. I pour some coffee? the baby cheers. I pick up a toy? The baby cheers. I sit on the couch? The baby cheers.

Its like I have my very own fan club people. She literally follows me around clapping her hands, jumping and saying “YAY” whenever I do anything.

I tend to stay in my pajamas until at least noon most days, other days I stay in them longer. On Thursday, it was about 4 (LOL shut up, pajamas are comfy!) when I decided to get dressed. I walked to the bathroom where I had put my clothes earlier in the day, and the baby of course followed me and cheered for me when I successfully opened the door. She looked like she wanted to follow me in, so I opened the door wider and let her.

It was all fun and games, she was looking at lotions and combs and everything was going great. Riiiight up to the VERY SECOND that i took off my pajama pants and stood there just in underwear and my top. That’s becuase as SOON as my pants came off, and I mean THE SECOND they hit the floor, the baby SCREAMED. She cowered from me and screamed bloody murder. I opened to door and she literally RAN out. The minute the door was shut again? She stopped crying.

YO. I make babies cry when I have no clothes on, Sooooooo…..it might be time for me to get a nordic track or lipo or hey! I could feed the baby more chocolate then she would know what its like LMAO.

Seriously though. the timing was AWESOME. She literally cried when I got undressed. It STILL makes me giggle when I think about it!

Lots of back story cus I dont think I’ve talked about this stuff for a while.

My brother and his GF are complete morons about money. He was working the rigs pulling in 5k to 7.5k a paycheck OMG. Instead of waiting TWO FREAKING WEEKS, they would buy things, like a leather furniture set – ON CREDIT. And then not make payments.

Instead of paying bills, they would buy shit. Their two girls literally got complete wardrobes EVERY two weeks. The ate out for 99.9% of their meals, his gf thought nothing about buying three five hundred dollar purses in one day.

Then, my brothers boss, who happens to be his Step Brother (drama!) told him to do soemthing and my brother mouthed off, causing my step brother to punch him in the face. (aside – for an insubordinate to back talk the boss on the rigs is bad news, for the insub to do it in front of the entire crew, had my step brother let it go, he would have lost all respect of the crew and major problems would have started. My brother literally called my SB wife a whore and questioned their unborn child’s parentage, he deserved the punch) AHYway. My brother quit his job and moved back home.

Except. They were broke. The homeless type of broke. They had bills out the freaking wazoo and hadn’t the money to buy their baby milk.

They borrowed 1400.00 from my step mother and “even more” from my dad. I wasn’t told how much more they borrowed from dad – I think it is becuase it was an obscene amount of money. My step mother and dad also let the four of them move in, rent free, bill free, grocery free, into their house for six months so they could pay some bills and save money. They saved no money.

Fast forward to now. My brother got back on the rigs in mid January – a different rig, but still, making goooood money. They are back to their money shenanigans already. They bought a 54 inch flat screen TV last time he was home (two weeks on, one week off) as well as a complete wardrobe for their kids. God only knows what else they bought.

On February 20th me and my family all went down to dads to help celebrate my step mothers birthday, and I mentioned in passing, *in passing becuase when my brothers girlfriend told me this, she told me she had already talked to them about it* I mentioned in passing that their car would sure be full when we went to Manitoba with the girls in it.

They were all WTF? We aren’t taking the girls. I was all, yeah, J said they are buying a motor bike and driving the bike down and you said you would take the girls. (She told me that, literally, that Dad and SM had SAID they were taking the girls – that means to me, that she had talked to them, right?)

So when dad and SM found out they were buying a bike (and at this point, just to cause trouble, I also mentioned that they are buying a second car) they got PISSED. I assumed that D and J had been paying dad and SM back all the money they borrowed. Not so.

J gave my SM a 6$ winning scratch ticket and that’s the extent of the money they have repaid.

And remember, he makes five thousand to seven thousand dollars a paycheck.

SO. Today, Dad and SM dropped in on their way home, I wanted to loan my step mother Glee, becuase I loved it. They happened to stop in JUST as J was picking up the kids (Did I mention I babysit their girls?)

My dad says to J  “Hey, when does D get home?”, and she said around 330 Am tomorrow. dad told her “Have him call me, not at 330 in the morning, but tell him to call me we have to talk”

J tried to ask what they needed to talk about but dad refused to say.

I of course knew he wanted to talk to D about the money they still owe my dad and his wife, but I too, kept quiet.

Dad and Step Mother left about  5 minutes after J and about two minutes later I got a panicky phone call from my brother :

“Hey. What did dad want? Did he tell you what he wanted?”

(me) “What? your phone is really crackly – lots of static”

“Yeah I know. What did dad want to talk to me about?”

“They were here to pick up Glee”

“What?” (his phone really was very static-y)

“Glee. Its a TV show. They wanted to watch it”

“OK but what does he want to talk to ME about?”

“Oh. I dunno. Did you offer to lend them Glee too?”

Then we said out good byes and I pretty much peed myself laughing. I called my dads cell immediately to giggle that my brother was in such a panic about this and they laughed with me, because he had also called dad’s cell and dad refused to tell him over the phone.

I can just picture J calling him on her cell the minute they rounded the corner from my house, in this huge panic, and he obviously panicked as well, to be calling me and then dad like that.

Poor guy, he is gonna stress and worry about this till he gets ahold of dad when he gets home, and holy geesh, I’ m glad I’m not in his shoes!

And maybe this is only funny to me, but hearing my brother ask, so frantically, what dad wanted, and not telling him when I knew, it really amused me. They have no one but themselves to blame for the shitblast they are about to receive.

I gave my ten year old this scenario :

Hey bud. You get ten dollars for allowance. Now pretend that from every allowance, five dollars of it had to go to rent and food. Now you only have five dollars left. BUT – You owe daddy SEVENTY dollars. What are you going to do? Would you spend your five dollars on candy and toys, or would you give daddy, say… two dollars an allowance to pay him back?

He thought for a second and said, “well, I’d give him the money, ‘cus if I didn’t, it would be pretty much stealing, and also, the sooner I pay it back the better, I don’t want to owe dad money when I am like, forty! But do I really have to pay for like, rent and food? That would suck, and it might be against the law to do that. We should look it up on your computer.”

So basically, my TEN year old is more mature than my 25 year old brother!
