So. Every winter my inlaws ditch me and my husband and run off to the States and warm weather while I sit at home, freezing my butt off and having no one to drink coffee with at 9 in the morning.

But not this year!

This year my mother in law had a pace maker put in and in the 29th of August she saw her cardiologist and got a clean bill of health saying that everything was perfect and they could head to the states (BOO!) any time.

So they called their insurance place – Travel insurance, not, like, term life insurance quotes. The travel insurance place told them that to qualify for insurance OUT of country, she had to have 6 months between her last visit with the cardiologist and stepping foot out of country.

That means that she cannot ditch me all winter like they have done since the first winter I met my husband

I really should feel bad about how happy this makes me, but what can I say? I like my inlaws!

Last weekend my husband and I bought a fire pit for the back yard :

Pretty awesome, right?

Tonight we had our first warm(ish) night and were able to sit in the backyard and enjoy it. It was odd, this is the first fire we’ve been in front of since quitting smoking but it went OK. At one point, Micah said “smoke< and I thought he was asking for one, which confused the crap out of me, but he was just pointing out that the smoke had gone in his eyes and they were burning!

So, while I was aware that smokes were awkwardly absent from the evening, we weren't crying and gnashing our teeth for a smooth romeo y julieta, LOL.

And don’t get me wrong, i still love the smell, but I am done smoking. On Sunday it will be seven, or eight weeks! How great is that?
