I hit the dollar store with my middle son this evening to pick up something for him to bring to school for his class auction, and while we were there, I picked up some touchable bubbles. Not for me or the kids though, ohhhhh no! For the dogs.

have you ever blown bubbles for a dog? OMG HILARITY. Even the most overweight dog would be able to stop barking over pink magic reviews and sweating over a treadmill, because they will get SO much exercises (and maybe drive you insane with barking) if you simply buy some bubbles, sit back, and blow!

I buy the touchable bubbles becuase the soap ones leave a soapy wetness on everything, whereas the touchable bubbles pop into a plasticky type thing that easily wipes/peels off mostly every surface. Plus, BONUS, you can catch the touchable bubbles and play with them, so it keeps the kids and the dogs occupied.

But in all honesty, I bought them for the dogs LOL

All day long, and in fact, Right now, as I type, I keep smelling cigarette smoke, which is pretty damn impossible, as it has been..eight months? Since the husband and I quit smoking.

We quit July 17, 2010. However long ago that was.

In any case, all of our clothes have been washed, the car has been detailed, and we never, EVER smoked in the house, so where is the smell coming from? And it is definitely cigarette smoke, not like discount baccarat cigars or anything like that. It’s the weirdest thing!

Maybe its because FOUR different friends on facebook have picked today as their quit date to stop smoking? Which, what the hell? What is so special about today that that many people are quitting? A WEDNESDAY? How ODD!

The smell is gone again, but I am sure it will be back, and with it, to be honest, wee tiny cravings for a smoke :(

Everyone on facebook is posting about Spring break, trips to Vegas, trips to Florida, Outer Banks vacation and even just staying at home (Staycation) while I am stuck waking the boys up at seven am every morning, rushing through lunches, making sure everyone has socks, and dammit, I want a vacation too!

Preferably one with just me and my husband, a bottle of wine and a few hundred candles. *wink*

Seriously though, I like my kids a lot and I like having them home with me and it bothers me SO much to be listening to people bitch about how they can’t wait for Monday to send their kids back to school, that their kids are being bad, and they are so DONE with spring break, while I am bored, sitting at home, missing my kids, missing my hubby, and above all, BORED.

I’d love to take a family trip – a cruise or soemthing would be cool, but that is not in the cards for a good long while :(

People need to stop and look at their kids, look at how much they have grown just from last spring break to this one, stop and think about how much more grown they will be next year, they need to just STOP and enjoy their kids, love them, smile with them, BE with them.

Just testing this QuickPress posting system out, I’ve never tried it before. Looks like I can add photos, lets give that a try :

Kinda neat, but lets be brutally honest here, all thsi is doing is saving me the work of making ONE simple click! Im not on SSDI, my fingers all work very well – except one has a bit of a rashy spot from my ring being tight- but I am quite capable of clicking “Add New” and typing from that page, as opposed to typing here, on the dashboard!

Ahh well, Ima hit publish and go back to posting the “old ” way.

Cant teach an old dog new tricks, and all that rot~!

Click Here to Automatically Upgrade WordPress to latest Version 3.1.
WordPress 3.1 is available! Please update now.

I hate walking into my blog and seeing THAT on my dashboard! I know that the upgrades are important and keep my website safe, but I worry every time that I am gonna do something wrong!

I’m not gonna tackle the upgrade tonight, I’m still feeling way too craptacular, so remind me to do it tomorrow.

Hubby got the mail today, my thank you postcards from etsy came in (finally)(it took her seven weeks to get them to me, hence the no link love, I don’t want you people to go there and end up waiting!)

My April baby got an early birthday card in the mail, I got a birth announcements card from my friend Jennifer and her baby Abby, and the dog got her vaccine request from the vet. No bills, so that’s something, right?

I’m gonna take my book and draw a hot bath. I am doubtful that I will read, my head is pounding like hell.

My oldest son had an eye exam two months ago and it was determined that he needed prescription eyeware. Being of a delicate age, pre teen, this bothered him, A LOT. He, quite literally, sobbed in my arms, after being told.

:(

Because my eldest was super upset about the impending eye ware, and our middle boy also needed new specs, we chose to do his first, giving P a little time to come to grips with what was going on. A month ago we started looking for glasses, but he isn’t a kid, and he isn’t a man, so trying to find glasses that fit him, that look good on him, was very difficult, not like popping into the mall and finding a pair of easy spirit shoes and heading out before lunch.

Today we found a pair, just nineteen bucks more than we had budgeted for, and the best part was they took him from moping, close to tears, to smiling and, to be honest, kind of hyper. He is not longer sad or depressed about the,, while is is not pleased he has to wear glasses – they are a pain, he is no longer sad, and that makes me happy :D

He’s super cute, ain’t he ?

I worry a lot, it’s what I do. I am a cup half empty kind of person and i find that worrying and fretting about the worst thing, makes things more bearable becuase seldom does the worst thing happen, and what has happened is made even better by not being “The Worst Thing Ever”. If that makes sense.

My inlaws are in Tuscon Arizona, they go every winter and they go with the same group of friends. Yet, every year I worry – mainly becuase they do not call/email/skype often enough to give me peace of mind. I worry that someone will get hurt, even though they make sure they have ample insurance with them, I worry something will go wrong and they will be struggling to find an attorney tucson style, but without a quarter to make their one phone call. I worry they will be kidnapped by a roadrunner or trip and land on a cactus.

To make it simple, I just plain worry. BUT just five more weeks and they will be home again :D

that pleases me!

Another thing that pleases me is how freaking awesome my kids are. Check out this photo of my eldest with a picture of two pictures he drew (at school)

Pretty awesome,a rent they? He was understandably proud of his art work, so we bought frames for the pictures – holy crap are frames ever expensive – and hung the pictures on the wall. Crookedly.

So my husband works at a big place where lots of otehr people work. Not surprisingly, some of them are blooming idiots. its an unfortunate thing, but it is to be expected. There are idiots in every crowd.

This particular idiot cannot figure out how to unwrap his lunch properly and keeps setting off the fire alarms. This means several things, the first of course, being that the entire building, 800 plus workers are herded outside. We live in Saskatchewan. it’s COLD!

This last fire alarm the idiot set off was on a -47(with wind) day, and the guys are sent out the nearest exit, no time to get a coat or hat either, just get out! They stood outside in coveralls for nearly 15 minutes, no hats, no gloves, no jackets, in minus 47 temps because some dude at work is an idiot.

People like him need guaranteed life insurance, becuase he is too stupid to live, but probably not too stupid to procreate and his kids will need looking after, and the life insurance when he attempts to tie his boots and ends up strangling himself, will come in handy!

My youngest son was telling me how great it would be to win the lottery. He wants to buy a hot tub for some odd reason. He has been obsessing over a hot tub for more than a year now, its odd! I have no idea what put into his head that he would ever have a chance of owning a hot tub, but whatever, he wants a hot tub.

Not gonna happen though LOL, and he knows that, which is where the lottery comes into play. His big plan is to win the lottery to be able to pay for the hot tub himself, becuase meany mommy won’t give in and buy him one!

His other plan is that e will just buy gold bars and then be rich becuase he has gold. Of course he hasn’t figured out that in order to buy the gold bars he would already be rich, but I don’t think I need to tell him.

My older two have more realistic goals. they want to buy the new Pokemon game, out this coming Sunday, Pokemon White (or black). At about 35 bucks per game, they are much more attainable goals. My eldest has enough saved for the game, and my middle son is shy a dollar or so, but lucky for him, allowance happens one day before the game comes out!

The youngest though, is still saving his pennies and dimes and wishing on stars for a winning lottery ticket (By the way, he has never bought a lotto ticket, in fact, its illegal for him to even do so, until he is 18, so he has quite a ways to wait before he can win and shop!)
