This Saturday, our youngest is having his Seventh birthday party – he doesn’t actually TURN seven until Monday.
One of the things he asked for, for his birthday was an ipod touch and ipod touch speakers. Of course we said NO, you are seven, not seventeen for crying out loud!
We got him age more appropriate gifts, lol.
I sometimes find it difficult to grasp that my youngest, my BABY is turning seven. How on earth did this happen? Soon he will be a teen and then an adult and it feels like just yesterday he was born!
He has requested a Superman cake – we bought the pan when he was turning four (sob) so that is a simple and inexpensive cake to make for sure!

Fathers Day was this weekend and we had a bit of fun with it. Logan had forgotten his fathers day gift that he had made at school, at school, when we had…issues… with his teacher, so he gave that to Daddy on Monday.
Our middle boy had made matching father son tie dye shirts and our eldest did nothing. I had bought each of the children a gift to give daddy as well. In the past we had gone with something like the stuff available at Personalcreations.com, mugs, tee shirts, all that fun stuff, but this year I picked him up three sets of Bucky balls because Canada Post was striking, so If i had ordered from Personalcreations.com it would not have made it to us in time.
Stupid strike! I want my mail SO badly!
So fathers day was fun, Hubster really liked the bucky balls (Bucky balls are tiny magnets )
here are some balls he made tonight – don’t knock it till you have tried it, these things are tough to work with!

in the evening we went three doors down and had dinner with my father and mother in law, so it was a pretty great day, start to finish

I took Logan to the clinic the other day. Just before supper he lifted his shirt and told me his spots were soooo itchy! I looked and sure enough, from head to toe he had a rash, they looked like tiny pimples.
We ended up waiting a fair bit to see the doctor, not just because we were a walk in appointment and there was only one Doctor working, but because a woman brought in her husband who had hit himself in the knee with an AXE!
Yeah. Neither Logan nor I had any issues with the added wait time!
Eventually we got in to see the Doctor, and after Logan climbed up on the exam table – why do they make the tables so high anyway? – the Doctor decided that it wasn’t a viral rash from strep or other such things, because Logan felt A-OK, other than the itches. In the end we felt it might have been an allergic reaction to something he ate or touched and told me to just give him some benadryl.
I ended up only giving him one dose, because after that, even though the dots and spots were still there, He said there was no itch, and benadryl is for the itch…
now, The rash is gone and all is well.

Seven is a tough age to shop for. Too big for “baby” toys, too little for Big Kid toys, its tough.
Hubs and I went out this weekend to try and shop for our soon to be seven year old. He came home with a new phone (who different rant THERE) I came home with some new books, but for the up and coming birthday boy, we found nothing!
He Doesn’t listen to music, so a ipod nano 8g is not for him. He still loves stuffed animals, but he has too many AND the wasting of the money bothers me because I know he will lose interest in it in a few months as he matures, so that is out too.
He asked for “the big book of Science” But I haven’t a clue where to locate that – The Bog Book Of Science is a book my middle son bought from a school book order, and again, it bugs me to buy multiples of things for the boys, sharing is a good skill to learn. Besides, again, I haven;t any idea where I could get it, and get it in time!
We might have to head to the big toy store next weekend.

The Horror.
Oh, The HORROR.
Round near one this afternoon, I took the dogs to their room and put them in their kennels. We have to put the dogs away when there is no adult to keep track of them because of how our TV is set up, when our dog barks at the window, she stands a damn good chance of knocking over the TV. And its a sweet freaking TV, I do NOT want it knocked over and destroyed!
So I put the dogs in their room and went out back to continue getting the yard beautified. When I came in, it was a scene out of a horror movie, I swear. I don’t know any carpet cleaners raleigh nc, much less here in my town, but if I can’t find one, THIS weekend, that carpet is coming OUT, because something that dog ate did not sit well with her, and she had an accident that covered six square feet of that room.
The smell is so bad. Its so hot today, so the ick had a chance to heat itself up, to work its way down deep into the carpet, probably under the underlay too. It is SO disgusting
You Should be happy there are NO pictures!

We had planned on having a campfire in the back yard tonight but its FREEZING outside. Literally, freezing. As in, take your plants indoors or they will die, freezing. I might as well go out and buy polaris rzr accessories instead of the potting soil I had planned on picking up in the morning!
Its JUNE people, June! There is NO reason, at all, for it to be getting this cold, Hell, they had snow in Calgary the other day and that is just plain WRONG. The rain I can deal with, I hate it, but whatever, rain is a summery thing, so fine, make it rain, but this cold? Snow? No freaking way. I protest! Get me my lawyer because I want to lodge a formal complaint with Mother nature!
