I got the chance to see how my kids spend money a week ago. When we were in Edmonton we laid down the rule that our littlest was not allowed to buy stuffed animals, nothing live was to be purchased and once your money was gone, too bad. We are here for five days, make it last or deal with it.

The little guy went crazy first day. He bought two very cute hoodies and a pair of dorky , or in his opinion, cool sun glasses and a diabolo yo-yo. He bought every thing he saw, basically, and at the end of the first day he was broke.

My middle guy was more sensible. He saw something he really wanted and bought it, then decided he had shopped enough for one day.

But my eldest really impressed me. he kept a list of what store had what item he wanted and what the cost was, and the night before our last day he made a list and we followed him from store to store, with him buying exactly what he wanted. It was neat to see.

my oldest gave his guitar to his brother today. In part he did it because his brothers birthday is today (23rd) but more in part because the high school has gotten rid of the school music program, the teacher they had to teach it was transferred and with her went the class. Its a damn damn shame that this happened, and an even bigger shame that the reason another band teacher has not been hired is due to provincial budget cuts. since when did music become so unimportant in a childs life? Kids need the enrichment of art and music, they need to have the fun of fooling around with a Peavey Bass and banging on a set of drums.

I washed a few loads of laundry this weekend, amoung them was my husbbands work clothes. He is a welder, he works with a millermatic or something like that. Anyway. I tossed out both his work pants and his tee shirt that he wears under his cover alls. the shirt had burn holes as big as my hand in them, and the pants had a crotch rip in them, and no way in hell am I mending a pair of jeans with more holes than swiss cheese!

Hubs keep solder tee shirts for just this occasion, when I get fed up with the rags he has on, and make him change, and there is always a pair of jeans in his closet with a ripped up knee that he can take to work to burn to shreds with him!

My son has officially entered the moody teen age. and that sucks because he isn’t a teenager until NEXT October. I am soooooooo tired of the eye rolling and big sighs. He wants us to treat him like a man, but he acts like a six year old, constantly. Its driving me insane. Forget the best testosterone booster, I need a testosterone reducer! I want my sweet little boy back, Mostly because I am so worried we will screw this raising kids thing up. This is a super important stage in his life and the choices he makes here WILL affect his future. It terrifies me.

The next two weekends will be Long Weekends. First up is B’s tenth birthday, we are going to go swimming and then host a sleep over – because nothing says fun like a gaggle of ten year old boys!

The weekend after that is my husband and P’s first karate tournament. Its only an hour and a half away and i think it will be fun, but long. Just in case it is boring, I will download a kobo book LOL

I figured that I wouldn’t get to do either things, because of the staffing issues at work, but my boss surprised me with two new employees this morning, and promised me i could have my Saturdays back!

Easter is almost here, and for once, I honestly feel like doing the easy thing and getting an easter baskets delivered by Personal Creations, because we are leaving the very next day for vacation.

I have so much to do before then, like packing, what a chore that is, packing for five people! And with three out of the five currently down with the flu, let me tell you, I have better things, more pressing things, than making my way to a store to pick up a chocolate bunny or three!

My footsies are killing me! I worked a lonnnng time today and my feet are swearing at me right now for doing so. Oh, sure, its nothing like the pain of waking up in the middle of the night to go pee only to step on one of the kids plastic model cars, but trust me when I say, they are sore!

I had a HOT bubble bath the moment I got home, but that did nothing for my poor feet.

Spring has sprung, the snow is gone and it was plus 19 today, which is fricken awesome!

Camping season is upon us, and I can’t wait! It will be harder to get away for the weekend, now that I work, but we will do our best. Maybe get some new lowa renegade boots for Hubs and we can go hiking somewhere. The boys would love that!

I don’t often work Mondays, so if hubs can get that day off, we can head out for a three day weekend at least.

AND, best of all we will get to sit out back with our toes roasting by the camp-fire, cooking marshmallows and smores with the boys, and watching the stars!

I wont really get into the reasons, but my co-worker was fired last night. She had it coming, but whatever. Now she is typing up resumes and looking for a job again. She is even checking out cvs jobs, and at the DoH to see if she can be one of those sign holders when there is construction.

I started my first job this past September, and i just went in and asked for a job, I didnt have a resume OR people to reccomend me. But they needed someone, and Iwas there, so she gave me a chance. Now the Pub is under new management and I am nearly done my three month probation, so thats cool.

Im really enjoying work. Not nessesarily the work part of work, but I sure do love the paychecks :D

I love the internet. it never fails me. when I need to look up how to spell a word, or look up when the next full moon is gonna be, I just google. When I need to figure out how to make a spread sheet or find video conferencing solutions, internet here I come!

Tonight at work it was so funny. I was asked where I had bought my socks, and I replied önline”. The lady then asked me if I ever shop at a real store, you know, she said, one that you leave home and drive to and go inside and buy stuff? I guess I do buy a lot of things online, but I never thought I was THAT bad LOL

Yup. I do love the internet!
