Uhm. Yeah. In pretty much every freaking store I go to , from Wal*Mart, to 7-11, to the freaking Store that sells birthday cards, you can purchase iTunes gift cards at the till.

I live in Canada, therefore the stores I shop at are in Canada, and I signed up to iTunes VIA the CANADA website. (It ends in .ca not .com)

We got our sweet iTouch and went out the same night and bought a 20 iTunes gift card so that we could download games and apps and etc.

Last night Hubs tried to buy Super Monkey balls for the iTouch, but it kept fucking up, so he sent an email to the iTunes Gift card customer support people and THIS shit is what he got in reply :

(Uh, the iTunes shit is under my name, hubs name isn’t actually Shannon)

Dear Shannon,

Thank you for contacting Apple about the App Store. I understand you’ve attempted to purchase applications using the store credit but was unsuccessful.

At this time, the system will not allow you to purchase games or applications with store credit or an iTunes Gift Card in Canada. Customers residing in Canada may only purchase games and applications using a credit card.

Sincerely,

Catherine
iTunes Store Customer Support

Please note I work from 8 -5 Mon-Fri

WHAT THE FUCKETY FUCK??

So I can buy CANADIAN gift cards in CANADIAN stores but they cannot be used on the CANADIAN website?

I want my money back.
And an explanation.
And a tranquilizer for hubs when he reads that e-mail after work.

I’m sitting here on the couch thinking about making a pot of coffee, but I am just too comfortable! I am pleased to announce that for the first time in weeks, I had an AWESOME nights sleep!

Last night was a full moon, and I went out side to try and take a picture of it. As you can see, it didn’t quite turn out.

I have an unreasonable hate of tripods. I know a lot of people use them for almost every shot, but I think I have used mine once, during an eclipse. In any case, after the first picture, I realized that without a tripod there was zero hope of me getting a good clear picture – and the moon was awesome, by the way – so I decided to just fool around.

At first it was just a squiggly.

Then I decided to make a happy face. I did not think ahead to how I was going to make eyes, noes, and mouth.

Then I moved onto letters. This is an “M”. No really! It is!

And of course, an “S” for me!

I would have preferred a crisp shot of the moon, but taking these were way more fun!

Please excuse me while I go and make coffee!

The only thing that could have made yesterday better would have been for me to have opened my mail box and found my iTouch in it!

As it was, Bro and his chick and the baby came by like I had requested AND they were willing to let me play with my camera! I was really unsure if my brother would be willing to let me take a billion pictures, but he was a darn good sport about it – even when he got pee’d on!

I too 52 pictures and got about 20 that I liked, which is great, because going into it, I was just hoping to get one good picture. You have probably seen some of the photos on BPR, so here I will show you the photo that my Eldest son likes the best!

Woke up this morning absolutely freezing. It took me half an hour just to convince myself I would not die if I took off my blankets! I want to know how my husband does it? How does he crawl out of our warm bed at 6 in the morning, get dressed and got to work every morning?

It’s only five degrees out today, our expected high is 16, the low ten, and we will have rain off and on all day. – the good part of this is obvious – no wasps! The bad part? I am typing this from the couch wrapped up in two blankets, wearing sweat pants and two sweaters!

Who votes that it is time to turn the heater on?

Except, If I do turn it on, it will warm right up again outside and the wasps will be back in full force! (I’m such a good person! I’m willing to freeze almost to death for the sake of the others in my town)(accolades please)

I’ve been Google’ing WordPress themes – thanks Jen!- and still have not made a decision on which one I want. I wouldl ove to have a theme that I could put the header I have up now up. I worked hard on that header and I love how it turned out!

While I did not post to this blog yesterday I did spend a fair amount of time on it’s behalf. have decided that it is time for Mommy Maddness to grow up and move off Blogger and onto its own hosted server.

I have decide to go with the Wordpress platform, since I am used to that platform already from Bluepaintred.

The hard part will be figuring out how to do the hosting part, although I have had a lot of help already from some great people on twitter, one in particular, Holly, who offered me an awesome coupon code to use to buy my first year!

So. I need to find some sites that offer wordpress themes, because the default ones suck, but I can’t afford to get a custom made one done yet!

It’s pretty exciting!

Sorry for the lack of updates , but something awesome has happened, and It had me a bit… preoccupied…

Yeah. I Know!

It was such a long day. I was up at seven on Wednesday and by Nine my SIL had called to say she was still contracting – she had started contracting the night before – so as the day progressed she would call me with updates – she is an hour away from me – by six PM she was six to five minutes apart and I was getting worried.

Eventually, they – my Step Mother (not the evil variety) my brother and his chick, headed into the city. By now it is 11 PM. We stopped at Timmy’s for some iced capps and 7-11 to talk to my BFF who was scheduled to work that night.

We got to the hospital and were in a room by 12:30 Thursday morning. At this time, her contractions started spacing out. She was dealing amazingly with the ones shw was having and we were up and walking from 1:30 AM till 4 Am. She went from 2 to five int hat time. At five,m the nurse requested she go to the delivery room, and so we did.

We all tried to catch a bit of sleep, but for the most part we were unable. J got a two hour nap in after her epidural, so thats great.

At 10 she was checked and had only made it to six, so the nurse decided to use a catheter and drain her bladder and break her bag of waters. The minute her bladder was empty, the water broke and the baby was THERE.

At 10:13, She was born.

It was awesome!

I ended up being awake for over 32 hours, and for me, a person who NEEDS sleep – 9-10 hours of it, this was bad, and it has taken me quite a while to get back on track!

But oh, is she ever worth it!

I often forget that not everyone who reads Mommy Maddness read my other blogs. Yesterdays post started in a forum – and Picking A Pup was just a way for me to update the people in the forum.

I’m not going to address your concerns about what is going on with the puppies, becuase frankly, you aren’t in the mood to listen. I Do regret not supplying the proper information when I wrote that post, but I can’t go back in time.

And even if I could, I would probably be more concerned with grabbing the winning lottery tickets than re-writing a post so that it met the internet’s approval.

The other day Hubs, the boys and I drove an hour north to my fathers home. Once there, we hopped in my dad’s truck, with his wife, and drove another ten minutes to the reserve. There, we were introduced to seven of the cutest puppies in the world. One by one Belinda took the pups out of their blanket lined home, and plopped them into our laps. They were five and four days old – the runt was born a full day after its siblings.

Hubs and I ohhhhhh’d and awwww’d as we saw each one. We both paused on a sweet girl who had four white paws but reddish black fur, but when this one was pulled out, the runt, I fell in love!

She was very vocal about being taken from her momma and plopped into some strangers arms, and she was So active that only four of the 58 photos I took of her were not blurry. Ideally, Hubs and I would have loved to look the pups over at about 4 weeks old before choosing, not four DAYS old, so that we could see what kind of temperament they had. We want one who is frisky and fierce, not scared of every little sound!

Unfortunately that choice was taken from us when Belinda announced that three of the females would be killed shortly after birth to ‘help” the mother dog. So hubs and I had to choose our pup based on looks, not temperament, which is rather sad.

The fact that the pup was vocal, and active helped us make the decision, but her coloring cinched the deal immediately. Both hubs and I did not even need to talk over which one we wanted, for both of us, we knew this pup was “The One”.

And yet, My step mother found it super odd that we were able to agree on which pup we would take without talking about it. She was shocked we were not arguing about this or that pup. The thing is, we have spent many, many nights up late, talking in our bed about the new puppy. We knew what we were looking for in the pup and we both know what we like in terms of physical appearance. To me, once that little black and white pup was brought out, the choice was made FOR us!

I mean, Come on! Just look at Smokey! How could we pass up the opportunity to get a Mini Me for her!!

I woke up at 6:30 with hubs this morning, waited till seven thirty to get the boys up, got them fed, dressed, their bags packed and sent them to school at eight thirty.

Then I turned cartoons on the TV in my room and went back to sleep while L watched TV. Just like normal, I woke up with a raging headache. Every single time I nap I get rewarded with a headache. Why is that?

I am going to go hop in the shower and see if that will help my poor pounding head.

EDIT: Nope. The shower did not work. Oh well, at least I am clean! I have decided to brew a pot of coffee, since I have had none yet today die to the whole sleep in issue, maybe my headache is caffeine related! if the coffee does not work, then I will have to resort to Advil. I use so much of that crap that its getting to the point that I will try anything to prevent taking more!

I have three kids and a very active dog. It’s time for me to make a doctors appointment.

Four years ago when I had my tubal ligation, the doctors found a mass in my right fallopian tube. the mass was tested and came back benign. A year or so later I went to my OBGYN with complaints about my period – specifically, the amount of pain I was having.

The doctor told me that the pain was likely caused by adhesions – scar tissue from my tubal was attaching itself to my internal parts. My doctor told me that the process to fix this is very non-invasive, a very small incision through which a laser thingy is inserted and burns off the adhesions. At the time I felt that the pain was still bearable enough to say no to the surgery. I have never had good luck with recovering from surgeries!

But after yesterday and the day before, I am sure the time has come for a little bit of intervention. I was absolutely unable to do anything. I could not walk, I could not talk, the pain was that bad. The children were worried because I was on the couch shaking, close to vomiting from the pain. It took six extra strength Tylenol and eight migraine strength Advil to finally get the pain under control – It still hurt like an SOB, but at least I was able to move -and that only lasted for three hours, then I had to take more pills.

As soon as I stop bleeding – I’m not sure I have ever had a period this heavy in my life – including the bleeding after the children were born – I will be calling my doctor for an appointment!
