Today we  did our regular shopping, we do this every two weeks. it’s not horribly fun, as we shop for essentials, you know, like food.

Here are five things I coveted while shopping:

1. The high def TV Wal*Mart had on sale for just under 700$

2. The winning lotto ticket the man in front of us in the line had. I could do a lot with 1200$

3. Purple nail polish. kit was shiny and shimmery and I wanted it!

4. The pretty silver Nikon camera in the locked down display case. Did you know Nikon makes binoculars too? They do : Nikon binoculars

5. The latest edition of Rock Band – I am actually buying that for hubs for Christmas, so it is just a matter of waiting a few more months. Sigh.

What do you covet?

Today is the last day Hubs works before his vacation starts. This year, unfortunately, he only gets a week off. Normally they get two weeks. We are still not positive what the days are that we will be going camping, But we WILL be going.

I just hope that there are NO storms while we are there – we tent it!

The boys are over the moon, and hubs and I are just as happy! There are SEVERAL things around the house that need looking after, and now is the time to get it done.

becuase it is the long weekend, we will NOT be going camping until at least Tuesday, so we want to finish all this stuff up before then so we have the rest of the week to relax!

We need to get the patio done, the ground is finally dry!

We need to fix our bedroom window – the crank is broken so it will not firmly shut – a pain in the rear during all these storms!

We need to put in “lawn and garden” edging along the back fence, and get the landscape rocks in and spread.

And… I think that’s it!

on Friday our GST check was auto deposited into our account. It had dropped 30 dollars. July is the month that the government adjusts everything after the tax year. If GST has gone down, my baby Check will have gone down too. This is unfortunate to the extreme.

The government calculates what you will get based on LAST YEARS income, and since I was making about 300.00 a month in baby sitting last year, they automatically assume I will be doing the same this year. FAIL.

I am desperately hoping that I will be able to apeal their decision to cut my BBC, but I doubt I will be successful, on top of that, it is EXTREMLY stressfully knowing it will be cut – BUT WHAT TOO??

My student loan payment, the car insurance payment and out home security system payment come out of the BBC, and I usually have enough to also pay three of the four monthly bills we get, leaving just one to be paid out of Hubs account.

Not knowing what my BBC will be means I do not know how much will have to come out of Hubs check, meaning I have no idea what to budget for.

Luckily, my friend called me this afternoon asking If I will be able to baby sit her two kids for two weeks. She is quitting her job and must give 2 weeks notice, and on Friday she found out the babysitter she had been using was virtually abandoning (and not feeding) her children!

The money I make over those two weeks goes a long LONG way to giving me peace of mind in terms of bills, and hopefully, the BBC will not be dropped as far as I think it will and we will still be fine.

Fingers crossed!
